Who we are

Family on beachWe are a team of professionals who are dedicated to helping children, youth and families in the communities we serve. Our services are offered at no cost and can be accessed through self-referral as well as by referral from government and community agencies. We have a well established Child Development Centre with staff who provide pediatric services to children 0-5. The staff includes Infant Development Consultants, A Supported Child Development Consultant, Supported Child Development Assistants, and pediatric therapists such as an Occupational Therapist, a Physiotherapist, and a Speech and Language Pathologist.

We also provide a wide range of mental health and community social services. We are fortunate to have Clinical Counsellors, a Family Social Worker, and a Parent Support Worker on our team. As well, our services for Children and Youth with Special Needs include a CYSN Coordinator and an FASD Keyworker. Our Youth Services Coordinator operates out of our “Plus One” youth centre, offering on-going activities and individual services to youth in our community.   TLC and Harmony focus on domestic violence issues, including child witnessing of violence.

If any of these services would be helpful to you or your family you can contact our Director of Mental Health and Social Services @ Ext. 208 or our Director of Child Development Services @ Ext. 218.

How we are doing

shutterstock 44398666"FRA's Early Intervention Program was fundamental to our family's ability to assist our child with her developmental delays. The staff worked as a team to support us both through the diagnosis and in developing a plan to provide our child with interventions that addressed her needs."

"The Family Support Worker never judged us. She let us know that we were doing a good job in a difficult situation. The suggestions she gave us for parenting really worked!!!"

"Having a Youth Counsellor really helped me. She helped me get a place to live. I still call her when things come up. (Youth Outreach)"
